Parental consent

Before we assess a child we need the informed, explicit consent of a parent or guardian — and the child's own agreement. This page explains exactly what is being agreed to, and contains the consent record itself.

Consent must be a real choice

You can refuse, and your child will simply not be tested. You can change your mind afterwards, at any time, without giving a reason — and we will stop processing and delete the record if you ask. Consent is not a condition of your child's place in any squad, and no club may tell you otherwise.

1. What the assessment involves

  • Body measurements: standing height, sitting height, body mass and foot length.
  • A short questionnaire about training history, and the height of both parents.
  • Physical tests appropriate to the child's age and sport, which may include jumping, sprinting, change of direction, endurance and strength measures.
  • Tests involve maximal effort. They are supervised, and a child may stop at any point.

Approximate duration: [DURATION]. Location: [WHERE TESTING TAKES PLACE]. Supervising practitioner: [NAME AND QUALIFICATION].

2. Why this needs explicit consent

Body measurements and the maturity estimate derived from them are data concerning health under Article 9 of the GDPR. That category may not be processed without a specific legal exception. The one we rely on is your explicit consent, which is why it is recorded separately here rather than buried in a booking form.

The maturity estimate indicates how close your child is to their adolescent growth spurt. Its purpose is protective: it allows results to be read against biological rather than chronological age, so a late-developing child is not judged as though they were behind.

3. Risks, and telling us about health conditions

Physical testing carries the ordinary risks of vigorous exercise, including muscle soreness and, uncommonly, strain or injury. Before testing you must tell us of any medical condition, injury, medication or symptom that could make exertion unsafe.

This assessment is not a medical examination. It does not screen for illness and it cannot predict injury. If you have any concern about your child's fitness to take part, get medical clearance first.

4. Who will see the results

  • You, and your child.
  • Coaching and performance staff at your child's own club, if the club arranged the testing.
  • Our practitioners, and our infrastructure providers, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

Results are never published, sold, or shared with anyone else without asking you first. A coach decides what a result means — the system never decides anything about your child on its own.

5. Withdrawing consent

Email privacy@h-praxis.com and say you are withdrawing consent. We stop processing immediately. You may also ask us to erase the records, which we will do unless we are legally required to keep something (an invoice, for example). Withdrawing does not undo processing that already happened lawfully.

Full detail on your rights, retention periods and how to complain is in the Privacy Policy.

6. Consent record

Complete one record per child. Keep a copy — we will give you one, and we retain the signed original as evidence that consent was obtained.
